This is the second year I’ve shot the foam party at Bermuda Triangle club. I do work for the owners on a somewhat regular basis and it’s always fun to shoot at their club. They are creative with their events and promotions and best of all, they’re not looking for ‘party pics.’ They want me to take a more journalistic approach when I shoot for them.
As fun as it is, it can be pretty challenging to shoot. Besides wading through chest-high foam, there is ever-changing light. The strobes and spotlights constantly move and flicker, like in any dance club. Getting good exposures (without using flash) can be a bit tricky at times, leading to a higher rate of unusable photos that are either severely over- or under-exposed.
But, like a trooper, I persevered.
