Half Dog

half dogOkay, this isn’t a great photo, but I think it’s fun.

I was photographing my niece’s dog, when it got up and stretched before walking away. As it turned, the back half of his body just kind of tucked itselft behind the front. No Photoshop tricks here — just a real, honest-to-goodness photograph. I could go into the physics of light refraction, the effects of shallow depth of field on percepti0n, or the angular displacement of a 35mm lens on a full-framed camera, but I’d just be making that stuff up.

I just pushed the button.
